It’s less than a week to go until the launch of the Pandora Valentine’s Day 2018 collection, and today’s post brings an updated preview, offering HQ images, pricing in various currencies and some individual commentary. I also have fuller details on gift sets, which I’ll include at the end. There are some very cute promos for the CNY beads, too, including some pretty gold jewellery boxes!
The collection is due out on Thursday (11 January). I’m just showcasing HQ images of the charm jewellery in this post (charm & bracelets), but you can see everything else in the fuller preview I posted previously.
Pandora Valentine’s 2018 Preview
As is traditional, there’s a new Valentine’s-themed charm bracelet design making its debut with the collection. This features pink pave around the clasp, which also features as a detachable charm/pendant in its own right. This is a very pretty design, but I’d like to see it in a more neutral clear pave or just as a more intricate plain silver piece, with oxidized detail. It will retail for £60 / $75 USD / $85 CAD.
Matching this is the Lock of your Promise clip. It will retail for $65 USD / $75 CAD / £55.
We start with a handful of two-tone beads. The Two Hearts two-tone dangle is a very traditional bead, priced at $75 USD / $85 CAD / £60.
The Key to My Heart is another pretty two-tone design that benefits from its simplicity, with no CZs in sight! It’s priced at $75 USD / $85 CAD / £60.
The Shape of Love charm has been one of the more popular charms from the collection, offering a beautifully deep colour and elegant design. It’s priced at £45. This is one of the pieces that would most tempt me, if I had an obvious place for it within my bracelet designs.
This design will also be made available as a Pandora Essence bead, symbolizing the value of Love. It’s $50 USD / $55 CAD / £40.
The Two Hearts motif crops up again in the form of two new spacers. The spacers are 3D, in that they are actually shaped like a heart, and then they have a little CZ heart to adorn them, too. The silver version will retail for $30 USD / $35 CAD / £20.
The Rose version is even prettier, in my opinion, and will be a little more expensive at $40 USD / $45 CAD / £30.
The final two hearts design is this CZ-dusted charm, retailing for $55 USD / $60 CAD / £45.
The Talk about Love charm is one of the most affordable options from this collection, retailing for $35 USD / $40 CAD / £25.
The I Love You pendant is available in both silver and Rose – I love the concept, but think possibly that it might work best as a necklace pendant or as a single item on a bangle, leather, etc. I can just imagine it getting a bit crowded/lost in a full charm bracelet design. The silver version is $50 USD / $55 CAD / £35.
The Rose version is priced at $65 USD / $75 CAD / £50.
The Explosion of Love clip is silicone lined, meaning it’ll be useful for bangles, leathers and the smooth charm bracelets. I quite like this design, and would be tempted to use it if I needed another silicone clip for whatever reason. It’s priced at $40 USD / $45 CAD / £30.
The top of the Tree of Love charm, which will retail for $50 USD / $55 CAD / £40 is engraved with You & Me, which is not a detail I’d noticed before! I’d have quite liked this design, but I have an aversion to charms with pavé at the bail – it just seems superfluous.
The Burst of Love charms mix cherry red and pastel pink enamel hearts. This openwork herat will be priced at $50 USD / $55 CAD / £40.
Its matching clip will be $40 USD / $45 CAD / £30.
The Explosion of Love also offers a mix of pink and red, but this time in pavé-set stones – the effect is rather more dramatic! As with most pavé charms, it’s a little pricier at $80 USD / $90 CAD / £65.
The Jared exclusive charm for this year is this dangle design. It will only be available from the Jared’s Galleria chain of stores in the US and it won’t be sold in any other region.
The next set of charms have been quite controversial within the community, as they’re quite a departure from anything we’ve seen from Pandora so far. They’re based on lips motifs, with a murano, pave charm and openwork bead.
This silver openwork charm is the most affordable of this new set, priced at $35 USD / $40 CAD / £25.
Next, we have our only murano of the new collection, priced at $55 USD / $60 CAD / £30.
The most full-on of these designs is the Kiss More, a pair of pavé-encrusted lips. It’s selling for $75 USD / $85 CAD / £60.
The Glitter Kiss charm is an emoji-style bead, featuring sparkling enamel and stylised eyes. It’s another charm that departs quite radically from Pandora’s existing style of bead, and it’ll be interesting to see how people choose to style this one! It’s $45 USD / $50 CAD / £35.
I will say that these are only a small set of beads, and are something of an experiment from Pandora. The rest of the collection follows a more familiar pattern. Either these kinds of beads will find their niche and audience, or they won’t!
Finally, we have these two new charms launching in celebration of the Chinese New Year! The Luck and Fortune has been an instant favourite with many collectors, offering a dash of gold and some classic Pandora enamel detailing. It’s priced at $75 USD / $85 CAD, but will not be released in the UK. :(
The Double Happiness charm offers a more ‘new’ Pandora take on the New Year, with cerise enamel and complementary pink pavé stones.
Pandora US gift sets for Valentine’s 2018
I have some better images of the US gift sets – the titles of each set are in Spanish, but they show off the new sets rather nicely and give the RRP in USD for each:
The Kiss Me gift set comes with a rather cute make-up bag:
While the Kiss More gift set offers a free purse with it, shaped like the charm itself:
The gift set with a difference is the Be Mine gift set, which features two stacked open bangles.
As you can see, you have two options for the included charm, and I have a couple of high quality shots of them. The first is called Be Mine:
And the second, Soul Mates. I like the more contemporary font of this one – it has quite a nice simplicity to it!
You can see a live shot of both beads below. I’m not sure whether these will be offered separately from the gift sets or not yet, however.
Pandora CNY 2018 bead promotions
Thanks to Patty Ng, we have a beautiful live shot of these two CNY 2018 charms (both of which will be available from 11 Jan). The Luck and Fortune charm is $129 SGD, while the Double Happiness is $99 SGD.
If you purchase the Luck & Fortune (God of Fortune bead) in Singapore, then you’ll receive this pretty gold jewellery box. I expect this offer will be running elsewhere, too!
This is a rather enticing deal, but it’s slightly compromised by the fact that the price in SGD is so much higher than elsewhere. $129 SGD translates as around $97 USD – $20 or so higher than the US retail price of $75 USD. It’s a lot more to pay for the fancy box! (Even though it’s really pretty!)
Both the Lock & Fortune and the Double Happiness charms come with the gold hongpao envelopes as well.
My Comment
All in all, I’m most excited for the little God of Fortune dangle and the 2018 Club charm from next week’s launches. I won’t be indulging in any of the Valentine’s 2018 pieces – as far as I’m aware! – especially considering how much I have hoovered up during the sales. And there were plenty of things from the SS18 sneak peeks (now removed) that piqued my interest.
Charms such as the Shape of Love have a beautiful colour, but they just don’t match anything I’m working on right now, and I have enough heart jewellery in my collection for the time being. The bracelet is intriguing, but again, I don’t want to start another design based on pink pave right now!
Are you planning on buying anything?
Is there any promotions for the UK coming up pretty please?
I read online that there will be a jewellery dish promotion of some kind for the UK :)
Thank you, great post as always! I get so excited whenever an email comes through.
Hi Ellie!
I really like the new padlock bracelet concept, so I will probably purchase that. From the pictures, it doesn’t look like the red faceted charms will work with my existing red, looks to be more of that dark fuschia color of the synthetic ruby. I’ll have to see them to decide. But the Essence one might be a good idea.
I still want the emoji; she would be great for a touch of whimsy on a bracelet. It’s too bad we don’t have a cell phone charm to go with her. A little IPhone to balance her would be great!
Thanks for the preview.
Hi Deborah! Oh good, glad to hear you’re a fan. I’ve seen a couple of live images of it, and I was surprised by how big the clasp is. It’s definitely a bit different from the regular-style clasps, and I wonder how sizing will compare.
Oh, a mobile phone charm! THat’s a better idea than either of mine to go with that bead. There is a retired cellphone charm, although I imagine it might be hard for you to track it down.
I saw some pics with no charms on the bracelet, and the Clasp worn on top, no doubt mimicking the Tiffany one. I think that it might be lightweight to wear some days. Of course, if I’m wrong when I try it on I’ll let you know!
Thanks for the preview Ellie! I don’t know if there is much I will go for from the Valentine’s collection. I think I have a lot of hearts already and the original key to my heart two tone so may just leave it at that.. But all the better to save for the Spring/Summer collection! A bit off topic but I really hope the Spring/Summer Mickey and Minnie car charm is made available by Pandora! I can’t wait for that one!!! Thanks again for the updates and have a great weekend!
You’re welcome! :) I’m sure the Mickey / Minnie car charm will come out. I’d be surprised if any of them didn’t – I imagine they were just trying to get a gauge on popularity and pricing, but perhaps I’m wrong. :) Thanks for commenting and have a great week ahead!
This was a fun read! None of these really fit into any of my plans but there are a lot of pretty pieces. I really like the explosion of love clip but am disappointed that they are silicone lined (I don’t have a need for those). Oh well, fingers crossed for a moonlight madness on Rue haha.
I also like the saying on the Pandora campaign image at the start of the article!
Ah, that’s a shame for you! Perhaps something might tempt you in store, though. And, if not, I’m sure Rue will have a sale soon anyway! I hope they get some new items in.
Haha, it is a fun campaign image isn’t it? I much prefer it when they go for humour as opposed to sentimentality. ^^
I am either getting the red faceted heart for Essence or Moments bracelet along with the CNY God of Fortune charm. I am waiting for my Pandora online order to arrive and will figure out designs then before buying. I have been contemplating starting Essence bracelet as older charms are natural stones which are my preference after seeing some on Rue. Haven’t purchased as will try Essence bracelet in store first before buying.
You will love it. It’s so light it’s like having no bracelet on at all. And the natural stones are beautiful!
I am looking forward to trying on an Essence bracelet in the near future. Perhaps, I will add to my wishlist for Valentine’s day.
I really like my older Essence beads! They’re really refreshing to wear as a contrast to my regular charm bracelets as they’re so much simpler and more elegant in style. It’s nice for a change, or for a more dressy occasion.
Thank you Ms. Ellie for the Valentine’s day charms, they’re beautiful and I have a tough decision to make on which charms I should get. Well I will let you know and no It wouldn’t be a box of chocolates.
Have fun choosing Karen! :)
I can’t remember where I read it/seen pictures online now and can’t seem to find the post. But do you know if the CNY 2018 gift set with a red leather bracelet is still coming out (I think it has the dog charm as part of the gift set)? If so, is it an Asia exclusive or will it come to the US?
Ah, that was this post:
http://www.morapandorablog.com/2017/12/14/pandora-valentines-day-2018-collection-updates/
That was an Australian gift set. :) I don’t know whether it’s coming out anywhere else!
Luck and Fortune charm is cute design but it diesn’t look like tradtional Chinese God of Fortune. Pandora name this charm as Luck and Fortune is correct this time.
Yes, I imagine that naming was deliberate! :)
Doesn’t
I got the shape of love and both sets of two hearts spacers. I think I will return the silver pair and keep the rose, as the rose will be a nice detail on a bracelet. All I can say about the lips is that they look exactly the same in person as in the pictures…:)
Oh yay! Those are some of my favourites. I don’t have any use for the Two Hearts spacers, but the Rose versions are very pretty in particular.
God of Fortune’s hat with long pole sticking each side.
I imagine that would be difficult to do as a charm as well! :)
I am still sad that I could not get the Dancing Dragon from last year here in the USA.
Are you referring to the lion dance charm? That’s still available
I got mine 40% off Toronto last week, hard to get now. Most shop sold out.
I have a couple that I’m selling if you’re interested? ☺️?
I’m located in Australia
I know others have said, but just to reiterate – it’s available in North America currently :)
Burst of Love, Explosion of Love, and Love and Kisses look like diseases.
I still like the bracelet concept, but the screws and heart lose it for me, and the in-your-face branding on everything is a bit much sometimes.
The dangle God is still a hit.
“Burst of Love, Explosion of Love, and Love and Kisses look like diseases.”
????????
I found that hilarious too ???
They really do. They are even worse in person. Lol.
Maybe because it is new and stiff, the bracelet has a funny shape. Lime it’s funneling down to the locket closure. It’s not really round.
Worse in person doesn’t surprise me, Lisa. Lol.
Weird about the bracelet, but again, not surprising. I’ll guess it retires quickly.
There’s nothing I need immediately from Pandora with this release, but I must have the Trollbeads Peacock lock and glass that opens for pre-order on the 12th, I think.
Me too!
Glad you like the CNY dangle at least! :)
Does anyone know if Australia
Will be getting any of the
Jewellery boxes in the
Valentine collection?
They are getting this one at least:

Hi Ellie I’m intrigued about the explosion of love charm and the bracelet I would like to see them in person. I can’t see the lip collection doing very well I predict it being discontinued sooner then Pandora hope. I do love the chinease new charm especially the little man he’s so cute.
Hi Nicola, not long to go now! :) No, I imagine it won’t be very popular, but you never know. The pave lips are pretty expensive too. The CNY charms are adorable, and I’m really excited to add the luck & fortune to my CNY bracelet. <3
Hi Ellie,
Again you have done a marvellous job putting together this post on the new Valentines charms. Yesterday I was in my shop in shop scooping up a few more Murano charms at 40% off. Great opportunity to pick up some older ones that I wanted two of but thought to pricy at the time. Had a peek at the new Valentines charms and well, not for me. Definitely not the bracelet with the padlock. I realize this may offend some who like it but I find this Years Valentines charms to look cheap as in flimsy and reminiscent of costume jewelry and I say that after seeing these charms in person. There is nothing in this release that I want to add to my existing collection. Even the staff were struggling to be excited, at least with me anyway, since they know my taste, I did however, like the Luck & Fortune CNY but I can wait on that one. My favourite CNY dangle charm is still the crane, such a clever and well executed design. Perhaps the spring collection will generate more enthusiasm. The winter collection with the orbit, Wintery Delight & New Galaxy charms remain my favourites and look great on my necklace. Last years gingerbread man & this years polar bear character charms are also well done and made it on to my Christmas bracelet.
Hi Lisa! Thank you, glad you enjoyed it :) Very interesting to read your thoughts on these new beads. I am glad that you liked the CNY dangle at least, as that is the one I am most excited about! But I can’t make up my mind whether to get it now or whether to be sensible and wait for a promo of some kind. Given how much I’ve spent in the sales, the latter is definitely the most sensible option, but it looks so cute in pictures. :D
I hope that you find more you like in Spring as well! :) Tanks for commenting!
Hi Ellie! I didnt realise the new valentines bracelet didnt have any bits for clips to go on like the normal bracelets do which has put me off a little bit but i think i’ll still get it :) what do you think of that?
You can always use clips with the silicone inserts to keep them in place.
Thank you, yes i guess so but its not the same haha :/
Hi Nathalie! That doesn’t bother me too much – I already have the regular Smooth bracelet, and it’s nice to have an option with more flexibility. I often find that I can’t quite fit all the charms I want to in the middle section of a bracelet, but the smooth bracelets let you make each section just as big as you need it. :)
I think almost the same as the last time we were commenting on Valentine´s release. The Key to my Heart dangle is simple and pretty and two tone and, above all, free of pavé. I quite like it, but I find it a bit pricey. Let´s see. I´m also interested in the club charm but this one, too, I have to see in person first. What has come as a little surprise to me is the fact that sudddenly the Essence version of the red heart has got my attention. As a rule I don´t like hearts in their charm version, because of their irregular shape. However Essence beads are smaller and well attached to the chain, not flipping over continuously. So,it might work for me (?). I´ll take a look at it, after all, there are some Essence beads I want to get before they are gone forever. And on the rest of the collection, I´d rather not comment. For the lips, I have only one word: hideous.
To end up, thank you again Ellie for this post.
That’s a really good point re the Essence beads Marie! Actually, character charms seem like they might work even better if they’re silicone-lined, don’t they? That’s true for all the animal charms etc not just a heart.
Thanks for commenting Marie! I hope you end up getting the club charm and your Essence bead :)
Nothing for me in this collection, not a big fan of hearts or lips. I will be holding out ’till the spring collection to buy anything but I will be having a look in store tomorrow, to see if there is anything left of the boxing day sales- not expecting to see anything. The only collection I really like last year was the winter collection, so I’m hoping that this year has more to offer. Plus I’m hoping to start a second bracelet this year.
I keep having a peek at the boxing day sale trays in store but it’s often hard to get a good look – the stores I’ve been to have been really busy and they usually serve people in front of the trays, so you can’t exactly go in and browse. I saw a few people also trying to hover without seeming rude haha. Hope that you see more that you like later in the year! :)
The store was very busy and it was first thing in the morning! The lady said people have been buying birthday and Christmas gifts in. I ended up purchasing the Blue Bloom Murano, wish I’d picked up the purple too!The SA found it a bit strange that I was buying for myself though, it’s happened a few times-surely it not that uncommon? I wanted a pair of earrings for my mother but as you said, can’t exactly browse.
Thank you for the Preview Ellie!
I love the Valentine’s day charm bracelet! I must have the Burst of Love charm and the Explosion of Love clip! Thanks again, I can’t wait!
You’re welcome Marguerite! ^^ Glad that there are things you like!
Hi Ellie!
Thanks for the HQ images. I always look forward to seeing them for each new release. I’m still holding on to my original thoughts for this new collection. I don’t see anything to rush out and get, but I do think the Shape of Love faceted hearts are pretty and love the fact there’s a match in the Essence line to go with. I’ll need to see the color in person to make a final decision, tho’. The Two Hearts spacers look pretty in both the silver and rose and I like the addition of the “red” heart stones. I’m not opposed to the new Lock Your Promise bracelet, but think I’ll wait and see if other padlocks come about in the future I might like better than the pink pave’. The Luck and Fortune bead is still on my list, tho’. Hopefully, we’ll know more regarding the Spring release soon. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
I forgot about the pretty gold jewelry box. Hope the US gets this offer with the Luck and Fortune charm. I have several this size and they are nice to have.
Hi Emily! You are welcome :) I don’t think many people have changed their minds on this launch yet, which is unusual. Normally people warm up to a release but reaction among fans still seems quite lukewarm. I really like the Two Hearts spacers as well, but again, nothing is a must-have. I’ll get the Club charm and the Luck & Fortune sooner or later :) have a great week Emily and thanks for commenting!
I’m not a big fan if any of these unfortunately. I wonder if the Singapore price is actually increased due to the box, or just higher in general? I find their prices to be pretty even to ours, and we always pay more than US. Great preview!
Hi Malia!
Im from Singapore, I can answer your question! The prices of charms in Singapore follows a pattern, the highest teir for silver charms is $129SGD so its not just because of the box but the box is a bonus! Hope it answers your question!
<3 Cindy
Ah, hopefully there’ll be something you like later in the year :) I see Cindy has answered your question, but yes, I think the box is just a bonus!
I have old version silver Double Joy ( two pieces one ), Piggy Bank, Daneing Lion on my bracelet with two tone clips on mini CNY bracelet.
Sounds beautiful!
I really want the lock your promise clip for my pink bracelet. I like the red glass heart shaped charm too and maybe the explosion of love. someone said the explosion of love looks weird, but I’m hoping it looks as pretty as the older mosaic pave charms.
Fingers crossed you like the explosion of love charm in person then :) I’m not so keen on the textured surface and mix of colours from the stock image – it’s a bit busy for me – but perhaps it doesn’t do it justice!
I think the raised silver hearts on the surface look a whole lot like a real heart with the valves and blood vessels starting out. This is just from the pictures. But it struck me as too realistic and a little creepy. Hopefully in person I won’t get that impression.
Hi Ellie. It’s always nice to see HQ images! I usually enjoy a few pieces from the Valentine’s Day collections, but I guess I’m just “pinked” and “hearted” out! I wouldn’t call a single piece a “must have”; although, my favorite is is the Rose gold ring with the little red CZ heart, and I will probably get that one. The matching spacer looks nice, but I’m not sure what a heart-shaped spacer will look like on a bracelet. I’m glad to hear that the Explosion of Love Clip contains silicone—I’m always in need of silicone-lined clips—and it provides something different than the pave versions. I also may get the Shape of Love Charm eventually. I will pass on the new padlock bracelet. I will save my money for some of the potentially interesting pieces coming out in Spring/Summer!
Hi Joanne! Oh yes, I really like that little ring as well :) I am able to be a bit more sensible about rings, however, so I won’t be getting it as I have more than enough! ^^ I think that there will be lots in SS18 that I like, going by what we’ve seen already, so I am happy to have spent my fill in the sales for now too. :D
The glitter kiss charm looks very interesting piece to have and I may purchase this one but I am saving my money for the new disney pieces that are due out next month first.
Good plan! There are some gorgeous Disney beads launching next month. It’s great that we’ll finally be able to shop for them ourselves in store. :)
Hi I would like to know if the make-up bag and the money lip pocket will br available also in Italy.
Thank you
No, I don’t think so, Sophie – sorry! :(
I really would like to purchase the I Love you in the rose gold. How can I purchase this?
