*UPDATED WITH LIVE SHOTS* Today sees the release of select pieces from the Pandora Mother’s Day 2014 in the UK! As we in the UK celebrate Mother’s Day earlier in the year than most countries, Pandora release a small selection of charms to coincide with sons and daughters buying for their mothers. As for the rest of the collection, we’ll have to wait until the 10th of April like the rest of the world! (However, I do think that the best of the bunch has been released today!) For an overview of all the charms debuting today, see here!
I’m afraid that there are not any promotions running alongside this new collection release, unless you count the Pave Heart Bangle bundle, which includes the new LE heart bangle and the new pink pave heart charm for £99. I heard a rumour that Pandora UK are scaling back the promotions, as they don’t particularly increase profits. It’s probably because they set the spends so high here (on average about £125, which is approximately $210 USD!); perhaps if they lowered them, more people would take part in them!
Campaign Images
For the Mother’s Day 2014 campaign images, Pandora have chosen a pretty pastel pink. I have to admit that I love a soft pink, and these shots really do appeal to my girly side! They’ve not updated Pandora.net with a proper look book yet, so no HQ images just yet. :(
Vintage Heart
There is still absolutely no mention of the Vintage Heart charm being a limited edition on any of the retailers’ websites that are listing it. Limited edition pieces are usually trumpeted far and wide, and so I’m wondering if perhaps it isn’t an LE piece here in the UK. I’ll certainly ask in my store, if I can. I asked in my store and they confirmed that it is a limited edition piece, sold while stocks last. They also said, however, that they’d received a considerable amount of them and not to worry too much about finding them!
Live Shots & Opinions
So, I’ve now been down to my local store and I’ve brought back some pictures and opinions to share with you. The Vintage Heart charm was beautiful, but unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to photograph it. However, I did get shots of most of the other charms. Click on all images to enlarge them!
I was pretty disappointed in the Rose Garden charm and clip; in person, they are very pale, almost white. They are also nowhere near as defined as they look in the stock image. They were still pretty pieces, but not what the stock image had led me to believe they looked like.
The Lots of Love charm was very pretty; one of my favourites. It has two gold hearts, too!
In this shot, you can see the new Roses openwork charm. This was again pretty, and pretty much as it looked in the stock image. You can also see the new heart clip and the Abundance of Love charms here. Plus the new limited edition pavé heart bangle…
… which I bought! Or, rather, my OH very generously bought me. In person, it is completely different from the stock image – the stones of the heart clip match the new Pink Pavé Heart charm perfectly, and are in person more of a gorgeous, pale lavender colour. It was love at first sight for me! I’m going to post a full review of this beautiful piece in the next few days.
My Comment
I’ll be heading down to my local store today to check out all the lovely new charms! Hopefully I’ll pick up something nice to show you all, too. ;)
My favourites from the new collection are the Rose Garden charm, the Abundance of Love charm (or Lots of Love, as it’s known in the UK), the new Pink Pave Heart and the new LE Vintage Heart. So, almost all of these charms, basically! ;)
Are you going to be buying anything today? Has anything caught your eye? Let me know!
