Exciting news today as we finally have images of Pandora’s 2014 Valentine’s Day Collection! The theme (unsurprisingly) is very much hearts and love, in a big way. We have no prices as of yet, however. The collection is due to debut on the 15th of January.
*EDIT* Clear stock images are now available here also.
All pictures are courtesy of Marina Vekshina – many thanks to her for letting me use them!
There are quite a few charms in this collection – it seems bigger to me than last year’s Valentine’s release.
The first image reveals two silver heart spacers, in clear and pink cubic zirconia, and a silver spherical charm, with the letters ‘LOVE’ written around it in pink cubic zirconia.
The second shows two more charms: an adorable hinged heart box, with a gold engagement ring inside it. This is reminiscent of the Pandora Club charm due to arrive in 2014. Readers should note, however, that the stone inside the ring is a cubic zirconia, and not a diamond.
The second charm is a dangle charm in the form of a figure skater.
The third shows a silver heart charm, studded with individual clear cubic zirconia stones, a spherical clear pavé charm studded with deep pink cubic zirconia hearts and a new version of the hearts openwork charm, studded also with pink cubic zirconia.
We then have images of a cute Pandora Valentine’s Day card dangle. It features a circle of roses at the top of the charm. The card will open, too, which is a nice touch! Subsequently, we have a sweet dangle featuring interlocking hearts, studded with cubic zirconia.
This image is a little harder to make out, but, as you can see, it features three more dangles. The first reminds me of the Mother/Daughter heart dangle, although this one appears to just be one charm, not two. It features pink enamel on the inside of the hearts and cubic zirconia hearts on the outside. Instead of ‘Mother’ and ‘Daughter’, it has ‘Me’ and ‘You’ written on it.
The second dangle is of the word ‘LOVE’, with a pink cubic zirconia standing in for the ‘O’.
The third dangle is a two tone charm, and features a very classical design in the form of Cupid, poised to strike with one of his enchanted arrows.
We have a live image of the ‘You and Me’ charm, wherein we can see more clearly how it works:
Finally, we have a stock image of the collection on a bracelet. In keeping with the rest of the collection’s theme, the campaign image plays hard on the theme of romance, with a deep pink suffusing the picture. We can see how the Gift from the Heart charm (the engagement ring box) looks closed on the bracelet. We also have a clearer look at the cupid charm.
We also have a shot of a bracelet not from the Moments collection.
My Comment
Pandora have clearly decided to stick with very traditional romantic ideas for this collection. The theme is very much love and sentimentality, and this collection plays to all the traditional motifs that are associated with Valentine’s Day. I’m sure many boyfriends and husbands around the world will be picking something from this collection next February.
Overall, while I like many of the individual designs, I’m not overly big on such overt sentimentality. Pink is one of my favourite colours, but coupling it with such obvious heart motifs puts me off a little. ;)
My favourite from the collection has to be the little engagement ring box – I love the detail of the articulated lid and, as you can see in the stock image, it looks adorable on the bracelet. I’m not engaged myself, so I’d never get myself this one, but I think it’s a very sweet charm. I also like the ‘You and Me’ dangle heart charm – I like that the words are hidden when you close the charm, meaning that the words are like a little secret to wear on your bracelet from day to day.
I have a feeling that the cupid charm will be popular, too. He’s a classic symbol of romance and Valentine’s Day.
What do you think of the Valentine’s collection? Are there any that you are planning on buying/going to be hinting strongly that your other half should buy you? ;)
