The wait is over, and the limited edition Black Friday charm for 2013 is here! The charm, dubbed Let It Snow, launches today exclusively in the US and Canada.
Retailing for $65 ($75 CAD), the charm is available from both physical stores and online. Unfortunately for those who live outside the US, retailers are not allowed to ship Pandora products outside of their region. If you want the charm, you’ll have to get a friend in the US or Canada to help out.
The charm itself is a cubic zirconia pavé openwork charm, shaped like a snowflake. Many collectors criticised the lack of date on the 2012 Precious Gift Black Friday charm and, consequently, we see it make a return for 2013. ‘2013′ is engraved on the rim of the charm, as you can see in the image below.
Pavé designs have proved enormously popular for Pandora, so it’s no surprise to see them choosing a pavé design for their limited release this year. It’s sure to sell well.
The charm also comes with a cute little round box, on which ‘Limited Edition’ is written.
The Black Friday charm makes up the last charm in the Twelve Days of Christmas promotional gift set, which is available for sale from today. It is retailing for $500 ($550 CAD), offering a $215 discount – not too shabby! The set consists of the Winter Mittens, Candy Cane, Reindeer, Tree of Lights, Perfect Gift, Dashing through the Snow, Snow Globe, Silver Bells, St. Nick, Winter Wonderland Clip, Winter Wisp and Black Friday charm. The set also comes with a special Pandora Design Centre Jewellery Box:

My Comment
I think this year’s Black Friday release is a very elegant and classic-looking charm. Its lack of colour is, in my opinion, an improvement on last year’s Black Friday charm, which featured bright red enamel. While this was pretty and definitely in keeping with its holiday theme, it made it difficult for many collectors to fit it into their existing bracelet designs. The clear pavé of Let It Snow means that it should add interest to any bracelet design, without clashing with any existing colour scheme, or lack thereof.
The addition of the date also makes it extra collectible. However, its inclusion on the rim of the charm makes it subtle enough that people who don’t like obvious date stamping shouldn’t be put off by it.
All in all, I’d love to be able to get this charm, but I don’t think I’ll be able to this Christmas. There’s always next year! ;)
How about you? Are you planning on purchasing this charm? Do you have it already? As ever, feel free to share! :)
